Marvin Yarborough

June 6, 1925 — January 8, 2012

MARVIN YARBOROUGH Waynesville, Marvin Yarborough, age 86, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Tennova Healthcare in Knoxville, Tennessee. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Alvin and Jannie Fish Yarborough. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Rogers Yarborough, who died in 1967, his second wife, Mildred Carswell Yarborough, who died in 2007, a son, Charles Yarborough, one brother, Alvin Yarborough, Jr., and a sister, Wilma Yarborough. Marvin enjoyed restoring vintage autos and was a Nascar enthusiast and fan of Davey Allison. He was also a fan of Tarheel football and blessed with a great sense of humor and a gentle spirit. He is survived by one daughter, Janet Y. Monroe and her husband, Gary, of Knoxville, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Yarborough, of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Jimy White, Brock Blankenship, Amanda Flynn, Amy Y. Duncan, Bruce Yarborough, and Paul Yarborough; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in the Wells Funeral Home Chapel of Waynesville Funeral Home with Reverend Henry Nichols, Jr. officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to services.
