Mark Scott

Canton - Mark Scott, age 89, of the Beaverdam Community died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. He was a native of Haywood County and the son of the late Arthur and Essie Wilson Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie P. Scott who died in 2001; a daughter, Carolyn Scott Case and two great granddaughters, Taylor and Catlin Morgan. He was a farmer and a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran. He is survived by three sons, Wendell M. Scott and his wife, Nancy and David M. Scott and his wife, Audrey all of Canton and Billy Joe Scott and his wife, Anita of Mosheim, TN; three sisters, Thelma Scott Worley and Bernice Scott both of Canton and Dorothy Scott Cody of Palatka, FL; two brothers, Calvin and Clay Scott both of Canton; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Worley, Reverend Jack Robinson and Reverend Bobby Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery with the military graveside rites conducted by the United States Army. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the home.
