Mamie Williams

Waynesville, Mamie Williams, age 89, of Walker Road, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Pruett and Martha Jones Williams and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Williams, who died in 1995. Mamie loved to garden, sew, crochet, and read books. She will be remembered for her famous biscuits. She is survived by John Henry Williams, Jr. and wife, Kathy, Jack Ray Williams and wife, Patricia, and Martha Jane Smith and husband, Bob; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren, all of Waynesville. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Daryl Hannah officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 748, Asheville, NC 28802.
