Lura Fish

Spring Creek-Lura West Fish, age 83, of 200 Little Bald Branch Road, died March 5, 2005 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she had lived most of her life in the Spring Creek Community. She was the daughter of the late Dock S. and Glenna Brookshire West. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ervin Gillespie and her second husband, Lloyd Vernon Fish; four sisters; and five brothers. She was a member of Ball City Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Dave Hill, of Washington, Reverend Lloyd V. Fish and his wife, Linda, of Franklin, Floyd O. Fish of Lancaster, SC, and James E. Fish of Hot Springs; a stepdaughter, Shirley Allison, of Louisburg, NC; two sisters, Major Glenna West, of Weaverville and Lora Snow of Little Rock, AK; three brothers, Nathan West of Asheville, Jack West of Lees Summit, MO, and Walter West of Stockton, CA; 16 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend Elbert Deason, Reverend Scott Dotson, and Reverend Lloyd V. Fish officiating. Burial will follow in Woody Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
