Johnnie Rathbone

Clyde, Johnnie Rathbone, age 67, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John Henry and Anna Mae Smith Rathbone and was also preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Sharon Lee McDaniel Rathbone, who died in 2007. He retired in 2008 from Colbond with 38 years of service. Johnnie will be remembered for being a devoted husband and was a member of Crabtree Baptist Church. Johnnie is survived by two sons, Matthew Brent (Jessica) Rathbone of Kannapolis and John E. (Marisa)Rathbone, of Clyde; a daughter, Shannon Rebecca (Sam) McElroy of Waynesville; sisters, Juanita Evans of Arizona and Kathleen Hanna of Clyde; brothers, Henry and Gerald Rathbone of Clyde; grandchildren, Jonathan, Zackary and Logan Rathbone, Johnny Rathbone, Jr. and Rebecca McElroy; as well as many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Dewayne Rathbone officiating.
