Jerry Henderson

Waynesville, Jerry Bailey Henderson, age 72, of Candler Street, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at his residence. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he had resided in Griffin, Georgia before moving to Haywood County in 2011. He was the son of the late Edward Everett and Willie Mae Futral Henderson. Jerry was a United States Navy Veteran. He was owner of Henderson Insurance Agency in Griffin, Georgia. Jerry was a Boy Scout Master for over 20 years and enjoyed serving as a baseball and football coach for Griffin Recreation Association. Jerry was co-founder of Griffin Recreation Association for Special People "GRASP." He is survived by three sons, Edward "Ed" S. Henderson of Waynesville, Bobby Henderson of Griffin, Georgia and Joe Henderson and his wife, Insil, of Newnan, Georgia; a sister, Ann Eady of Griffin, Georgia, three brothers, Ed White and his wife, Gloria, of Decatur, Georgia, Joe White and his wife, Jackie, of Blairsville, Georgia and Robert Bailey and his wife, Virginia, of Atlanta, Georgia; and three grandchildren, Joe, Tim and Josh Henderson; great-granddaughter, Haley Henderson; and his former wife of 36 years, Phyllis Henderson, of Griffin, Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at S. John Lutheran Church in Griffin, Georgia.
