James Fie

JAMES R. FIE, SR. Maggie Valley-James R. Fie, Sr., age 81, of 305 Carpenter Branch Road, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Translyvania County and the son of the late Laburn A. Fie and Vergie Frady Fie. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Fleming Fie, who died in 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Polk City, Florida and was employed by Delmarva Power and Light Company until his retirement. Mr. Fie was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing and was a WWII United States Navy Veteran. He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Hancock and her husband, Jerry of Polk City, Florida; one son, James R. Fie, Jr. and his wife, Denise of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Inez Cook of Enka and Jane Seichepine of New Castle, Delaware; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home Waynesville with the Reverend Tom Tucker, Jr. officiating.
