James Wilson

James Marshall Wilson, age 76, formerly of Haywood County died on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Park Ridge Hospital in Fletcher. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John Manley and Mary Frances Mathis Wilson. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Leona Wilson Rathbone, Mae Bell Wilson Deitz, and Eula Mae Wilson Williamson. He retired from Champion International with over 33 years of service and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. In addition to Mr. Wilson's family, bluegrass and southern gospel music was a love of his life. He pastored Full Gospel Baptist Church for 18 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Lou Kuykendall Wilson; two daughters, Deborah Wilson Summey and husband, Clifford "Spud" of Asheville and Marsha Wilson McClure and husband, Michael, of Candler; a granddaughter, Marissa Kaufman; three step grandchildren, Jonathan McClure and wife, Sherrie, and Andrea and Julie McClure; and three step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr., Reverend Leo Kuykendall, Reverend Allen Rash, and Reverend Jerry Young officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Pallbearers will be Odis Kuykendall, Stacy Gillette, Ira Jones, Johnny Chastain, Dennis Williamson, Bob Green, Bob Deitz, Roger Hill, Bill Wooten, and Bill Lindsey. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Aston Park Health Care Center and Park Ridge Hospital for their excellent care.
