Jack Deweese

November 7, 1941 — April 13, 2010

Billy Jack DeWeese, age 68, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Jesse Hilton and Velda Christopher DeWeese. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Hilton "Hoot" and Roy Howard "Dugan" DeWeese. Jack was employed by Canton Automotive for 40 years and was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church. He loved NASCAR racing and was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam era. Jack was a beloved brother, uncle, and a good friend to many. He is survived by one brother, Bobby DeWeese and his wife, Teresa, of Cary; one sister, Jencie DeWeese Owen of Maggie Valley; two nieces, Vicki B. Chambers and Katharine DeWeese; two nephews, Derek Blankenship and Jonathan DeWeese; four great-nephews; and special friends, Mike and Carolyn Rudisill and family, Bill and Francis Cook and family, Jack and Donna DeLuca and family, Charlie and Linda Nanny and family, and Stanley King. A graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler with the Reverend Ed Lowder and the Reverend Harry Worley officiating. Memorials may be made to Dutch Cove Baptist Church, 4161 Dutch Cove Road, Canton, NC 28716 or to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
