Hallie Shuler

June 11, 1925 — February 8, 2011

Waynesville, Hallie Shelton Stinnette Shuler, age 85, passed away on Tuesday. A native of Buncombe County, she had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Bartley and Rachel Arrowood Shelton and also preceded in death by her first husband, William Lewis Stinnette, Sr.; her second husband, Alney Oscar Shuler; son, Gary David Shuler; granddaughter, Morina Michelle Stinnette, grandsons, Cole Matthew and Cade Michael Smith; sisters, Emma Gaddis, Ida Suttles, Carrie McDaniel, and Mary Moss; and brothers, Hugh and Bartley "Sonny" Shelton. Hallie loved her family, enjoyed gardening and flowers and was of Baptist faith. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Shuler Yarbrough (Wesley) of Waynesville; four sons, Blake Zimmerman of Candler, Doug Stinnette (Willene) of Pine Mountain, Georgia, Bill Stinnette of Candler, and Wayne Stinnette (Mary) of Waynesville; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. Receiving of friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at funeral home.
