Grady Shelton

November 22, 1922 — March 19, 2004

Black Mountain - Grady Shelton, age 80, died Friday, March 19, 2004 at V. A. Medical Center.

He was a native of Madison County and the son of the late Leroy and Ollie Lee Plair Shelton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Lindsey Shelton who died in 2001. They were married for 57 years.

He was employed with V. A. Medical Center for 22 years, Memorial Mission Hospital for eight years, Highland Hospital for 13 years and at Bi-Lo Supermarket on Leicester Highway for eight years. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and he attended Grovestone Baptist Church.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004 at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton with military honors conducted by the U. S. Army. The Reverend James Lamb will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A committal/entombment service will be held on Monday, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Pisgah View Memorial Park Mausoleum.
