Ethylene Hatfield

Kings Mountain- Ethylene "Ethel" Hatfield, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she is the daughter of Flossie Smith Ledford and the late Reeves Ledford. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a son, Reeves Lynn Hetherington; sister, Zella Kirkland and a brother, Phillip Ledford. Ethel enjoyed making flower arrangements, baking cakes and especially being with her grandkids. She was a former member of Belmont Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Bennie Rowland; two daughters, Michelle Hatfield and Shelia Cagle all of Kings Mountain; two sons, Kevin Hatfield of Kings Mountain and David Hetherington of Canton; a step-daughter, Christy Rowland of Kings Mountain; a brother, Gerald Ledford of Clyde; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Basham officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
