Elaine Green

Waynesville, Born in Mt. Rainier, MD and a native of Washington, D.C. for many years, Elaine Green passed away peacefully in her home after a long illness. Elaine came to Haywood County eight years ago to be near family. Elaine loved her life in the Washington, D.C. area and was a well known and respected Interior Designer. She had a flair for throwing the best parties in town. However, her passion was sailing. Every weekend would find her on the Chesapeake Bay, with her brother Pat and his family, sailing her beloved Designing Lady to secret coves and cooking gourmet meals on a two burner Coleman stove. She adored her many friends, and they adored her for her fun loving ways and her ready-to-go attitude. Besides her daughter and son-in law, Lyn and Bruce Donley, of Waynesville, Elaine is survived by her son, Tom Bothe, and his wife Gwen of Naples, Florida; her grandson, Brian Bothe, and his wife Sandra; her great-grandsons, Ari and Zach; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special sister-in-law whom she loved with all her heart. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Washington, D.C. or somewhere on the Chesapeake Bay.
