Edna Swanger

Waynesville, Edna Rogers Swanger, age 92, died on Tuesday, August 04, 2009 at Oakbrook Health & Rehabilitation Center in Summerville, SC. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Taylor and Polly Fisher Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Wright Swanger, who died in 1997; a grandson, Scott Swanger; and four brothers, Hugh, Dewey, Elmer, and Bob Rogers. She grew up in the Fines Creek Community of Haywood County and attended Belmont Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Shaw of Summerville, SC and Eunice Damon of San Antonio, TX; one son, Arvin Swanger of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Evelyn Morris of the Fines Creek Community; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Jimmy Trantham officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville
