Donald Lees

Waynesville, Donald Lees, age 93, died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Myrtle Walker Lees, and a brother, Kenneth Lees. He was a manager with American Trucking until his retirement in 1984. Donald was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra Gumbar Lees, two sons, Bill Lees and his wife Jodi of Campobello, SC and John Lees and his wife Fawne of Elgin, IL; a daughter, Linda Feurer and her husband Dennis of DePue, IL; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
