David Pace

Waynesville, James David Pace, age 68, of 249 Solitary Meadows Circle, died on Monday, January 18, 2010 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Mack and Florence Pace. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll and Leon Pace and one sister, Katheryn Smith. David owned and operated the EZ Stop Convenience Stores in Western North Carolina. He loved to play golf and was a member of East Waynesville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann Buchanan Pace; three sons, Greg Pace and his wife, Jodi of Clyde, Brad Pace of Waynesville, and Chad Pace of New York, NY; one sister, Vivian Gardner and her husband, Jerry, of Conover, NC; one brother, Kenneth Pace and his wife, Barbara, of Waynesville; and six grandchildren, Shelby, Christopher, Jesse, Joseph, Raven, and Michael. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
