David Mcmillan

Waynesville, David McMillan, age 60, of Hughes Road, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2010 at his residence. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he had resided in Haywood County. He was the son of the late John B. and Caroline Clennan McMillan and his stepfather, Louis Acerenza. He was a US Navy veteran. David loved to read, write, and listen to all kinds of music. He also enjoyed hiking. He is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Lena Riddle McMillan; daughters, Elizabeth Surface and her wife, Cindy, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Teresa McMillan and Sarah McMillan, both of Asheville, and Katherine Queen and her husband, Shannon, and Margaret Helton and her husband, Matt, all of Sylva; two sisters, Patricia Meagher of Washington, DC and Cathy McMillan, of Atlanta, Georgia; four brothers, Thomas McMillan and his wife, Gillian, of Whittier, North Carolina, Louis Acerenza and his wife, Donna, of Long Island, New York, Michael McMillan and his wife, Kim, of Plano, Texas, and Mark Acerenza and his wife, Debra, of Fredrick, Maryland; and six grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010 at St. John's Catholic Church with Reverend Father Larry LoMonaco officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for David McMillan at BB&T, 370 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
