Craig Butler

"Loving husband, father, grandfather & brother" Clyde – Conard Craig Butler, age 61, of the Oak Park Community, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Frederick County, Maryland, he was the son of Ruth Heatherly Newland of Clyde and the late Harvey Conard Butler III. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annita Marie Sutton Butler, who died in 2011. Craig served as a member of the Haywood County Rescue Squad from 1973 to 1982. He enjoyed woodworking as well as fishing. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Bryan Butler and wife, Amanda, of Waynesville, and Brandon Butler and wife, Brittany, of Abingdon, Virginia; one brother, Allen Craig Newland and wife, Julie, of Clyde; and four grandchildren, Caden, Dawson, Hailee, and Raegan, Butler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Harry Worley officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
