Claudine Ensley

Waynesville, NC- Claudine Ensley, 84, went home to Jesus on Friday, April 28, 2006. She was born on June 7, 1921 to "Fate" and Etta Dockins of Clayton, GA. Claudine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesville. Claudine and her husband owned of Ensley's Superette, Waynesville, from 1946 until 1981. Following, Claudine continued service to the public, working almost ten years at the Open Air Curb Market in Waynesville. Claudine leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Walter, "Jr." Ensley; three children, Judy Jones of Gastonia, NC, Kay Newman of Maggie Valley, NC, and Sonny Ensley of Orlando FL; ten grandchildren, Renee Calvert, Stephen Christopher, Mignon Gainey, April Harvey, Pam Davis, Wendy Patton, Rebekah Wilson, Julie Spencer, Chad Ensley, and Chris Ensley; eleven great-grandchildren, Dustin, Jonathan, Shannon, Bryan, Tosha, Tamara, Tabitha, Jennifer, Becki, Christina, and Bailee; and four great-great grandchildren, Allison, Cheyenne, Morgan, and Summer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2006 in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Dr. Robert Prince officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. All family, friends and previous customers are invited to celebrate Claudine's life from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville for the viewing.
