Chris Craine

Steven Christopher "Chris" Craine, age 34, passed away on December 23, 2012 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of Tony and Melita Ballew Craine of Asheville. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marie Penland Ballew, who died in May of this year. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Chris enjoyed fishing and writing. His compositions included poems and mystery stories. Chris lived with and cared for his grandfather ,"Papaw". In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandfather Mack "Papaw" Ballew of Asheville; his paternal grandparents, Pat and Roberta Murphy of Micaville, North Carolina; and several uncles and aunts. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Reverend Allen Rash and Reverend Donnie Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
