Charles Chambers

Canton – Charles Lewie Chambers, age 66 died Friday, March 28, 2008, at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and he was the son of the late Jack and Nellie Pressley Chambers. He was employed by Champion International for 31 years. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia Chambers; two sons, Jackie L. Chambers of Candler and Charles J. Chambers of Canton; one daughter, Lisa C. Riddle of Canton; one sister, Anna Jean Reed of Canton; two brothers, Ricky and Max Chambers, both of Canton; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Gene Worley officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Keith Pressley, David Donaldson, Stephen Ewart, Tim Gentry, Jake Chambers and Kevin Jones.
