Waynesville, Cedric Hoten Inman, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2012.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late William J. and Julia Parton Inman. He was a US Army veteran and a retiree of Wellco Enterprises with 42 years of service. Cedric was a member of Rocky Branch Freewill Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all his heart, all his mind, and with all his soul. He was an accomplished fiddler, but could also play any instrument with strings. When he wasn't attending church, he loved singing and making music for folks in the rest home. Cedric was quick-witted, kind-hearted, and a dedicated servant to his church as well as to his family.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virgie Whitner Inman; three sons, Donnie Inman of Gastonia, Darrell Inman (Julie) of Asheville, and Matt Inman (Cherri) of Waynesville; two sisters, Edna McCarter of Waynesville and Ruth Cole of Valdese; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Creasman and Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
