Caulie Justice

Panther Creek, Caulie Justice, age 86, of 108 Belle Meade Drive, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Madison County and was the son of the late John and Martha Messer Justice. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Caulie was employed by Haywood Builders Supply as a night watchman for 14 years having retired in 1996. He was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church and loved to garden and loved his dogs. Caulie is survived by granddaughters, Cindy Stowers and her husband, Hal, of Clyde, Nannette Stowers, Jackie Netherton and June Noland, of Waynesville, Sarah Simpson and her husband, Lou, of Rock Hill, SC, a grandson, Darrell Calhoun of Waynesville; two sisters, Reva Kirkpatrick and her husband, Lewis of Seymour, TN and Mae Stepp of Canton; great-grandchildren, Niki Higdon, Stefanie Rubley and Beth Phillips of Clyde, Cody Phillips, Amber Cagle, Palmer Mintz, Carla Mintz and Jessica Moody, of Waynesville, Danielle Kirkland of Sylva; great-great-grandchildren, Arich Rubley, Rylea and Zachary Higdon, Drake Monroe, Will Stowers and Jayden Cagle, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Panther Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Hal Stowers, Bobby Sangster, Jr. Palmer Mintz, Danny Clark, Oscar Mintz and Cody Phillips. Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5140 Panther Creek Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
