Bobby Hardin

Bobby Hardin, age 91, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert and Dollie Stamey Hardin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Worley Hardin, who died in 2009; three daughters, Donna, Jan, and Joan Hardin; a brother, Roy Hardin Sr.; three sisters, Yetta Hardin, Tootsie Ward, and Catherine Jolly. Bobby was a United States Army Veteran having served in WWII. He was a retired employee of Champion International and was a member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church. Bobby was very proud of his grandchildren and affectionately known by his family as "Pap". He is survived by one son, Steve Hardin and his wife, Martha, of Clyde; two sisters, Doris Burnette of Bethel and Tilda Rogers and her husband, H.M., of Leicester; one brother, John Ray Hardin of Canton; and two grandchildren, Cameron Hardin of Asheville and Stephanie Rhyne and her husband, Patrick, of Charleston, SC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dan Gaddy and Reverend James Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road, with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
