Bill Thomas

Billy Arthur "Bill" Thomas, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Swain County, he was a son of the late William David and Johnnie Holden Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger, David, and Max Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann Sprouse Thomas; two sons, William David Thomas and his wife, Gwendolyn, of Candler, and Brian Thomas and his wife, Cassie, of Weaverville; one sister, Jean Ward of Waynesville; and four grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory in Weaverville with the Reverend Raymond Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
