Bernice Scott

Canton-Bernice "Aunt Nicey" Scott, age 84, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Essie Wilson Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Artie, Bonnie, Jennie, Mark, Thelma, Gomer, Bill, Calvin and Dorothy. Bernice retired from Canton Health Care as a Nurse's Aide and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and working in her flower garden. She is survived by one brother, Clay Scott and his wife, Shirley, of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
