Nancy Greene

Clyde - Nancy McGowan Greene, 86, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Ellsworth and Julia Emma Weaver McGowan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edwin Greene, who died in 2001; one sister; and three brothers. After a long career as a Registered Nurse, Nancy retired from Haywood Regional Medical Center in 1996 where she worked for over 40 years. She also had worked at the Owen-Smith Clinic and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clyde where she served as a deacon.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Greene Mussell and husband, Todd, of Rancho Cucamonga, California; one son, Thomas E. "Tommy" Greene, Jr. and wife, Dawn, of Morristown, Tennessee; one brother, Reverend Lindy McGowan of Tampa, Florida; and three grandchildren, Maliyah, Nathan, and Nicole.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Clyde with the Reverend Dr. T. David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
