Waynesville, Oree Clark Hudgins-Soesbee, age 90, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at The Homestead.

Born November 27, 1927 in Cocke County, Tennessee, Oree was the daughter of the late Gray and Cora Willis Clark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Alfred P Hudgins and J. B. Soesbee; brother, Alvy Clark; sister in law Betty Clark; and brother-in-law LeRoy Medford.

Oree was an active member at Clyde First Baptist for many years where she severed as a Deaconess. After marrying J.B. Soesbee she was an active member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. Oree and J.B. were active in the Eastern Star where they served together as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron.

Oree will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister aunt and friend.

Oree is survived by son, Ernest Hudgins, and his wife, Janice, of Knoxville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Leah Rader, and her husband, Lucas, of Knoxville, Tennessee; and her great-grand puppy, Riley.

Four sisters, Orpha Burrell, and her husband, Claude, of Canton, North Carolina Judy Kent, and her husband, Oliver, of Newport, Tennessee, Iva Dean Henderson, and her husband, Jack, of San Benito, Texas, Laverna Medford of Dothan, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews . She is also survived by step-son, Jim Soesbee, and his wife, Kitty, of Huntersville, North Carolina; step-daughter, Sara Jo Armstrong, and her husband Kevin, of Pearl City Hawaii; and step great and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either Hazelwood Baptist 265 Hazelwood Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786 or First Baptist Church of Clyde, 227 Main Street, Clyde, NC 28721.
