Lib Merrill

Asheville - Elizabeth "Lib" McNeill Merrill, 90 passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Lois Bynum McNeill. Lib was a 1945 graduate of Lee Edwards High School and a 1947 graduate of St. Genevieve's of the Pines Secretarial School. She was the Executive Secretary to the President of Six Associates, Architects and Engineers for 30 years. Lib was also a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Asheville.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob Z. Merrill; two daughters, Sandy Ford of Asheville and Pam Thielke (Tim) of Leesburg, Virginia; three grandchildren, Joseph Ford (Becky) of Broadway, Virginia, Senior Master Sergeant USAF Jennifer Thielke of San Antonio, Texas, and Jason Thielke of Wilmington, North Carolina; and two great-grandsons, Lucas and Elijah Ford of Broadway, Virginia.

A private graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Keith Thielke officiating.
