"Herb" Porter

Canton - Henry Herbert "Herb" Porter, 77, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

He was born in Roberson County, Tennessee but grew up in Nashville and was the son of the late Henry and Evelyn Birdwell Porter. In his younger days, Herb loved to play baseball.

He is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Maddux (Davis) of Hilton Head, South Carolina; one son, Timothy Porter (Kelly) of Texas; one sister, Linda Smith and her husband, Dane, of Clyde; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Ratcliffe Cove Baptist with the Reverend Tracy Smith and Reverend Tim Pullin officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
