Greg Ferguson

Waynesville, Michael Gregory Ferguson, age 54, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Judy Loutrel Ferguson and the late Michael E. "Mike" Ferguson. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Homer Alexis and Anna Gregson Loutrel; Paternal Grandparents, William McKinley and Catherine Muse Ferguson; aunts, Ruby F. Alden, and her husband, Owen, Edna F. Harker, and her husband, Ed, Mary F. Keener, and her husband, Lyman, Bonnie F. Hanson, and her husband, Del, Claudine F. Greene, and her husband, Clifford, Dorothy Ann Luther, and her husband, Jim; uncles, Gerald, Ralph, Dan and Stevie Ferguson. Greg was a 1982 graduate of Tuscola High School, he graduated from Wake Forest University and received his undergraduate in 1985, and graduated from Wake Forest Law School in 1988. Greg was the youngest licensed Real Estate Agent in the Nation. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Greg was an attorney and an entrepreneur with multiple business interests in the region. He was always looking for the next opportunity on the horizon and could easily navigate to it. Greg enjoyed playing golf when he was able to relax from his business endeavors.

In addition to Greg's mother, Judy, he is survived by a brother, Phil Ferguson, and his wife, Karin; aunts, Judith F. Shirley, and her husband, Beuford, Aulby P. Ferguson, Diane Ferguson, Betsy Ferguson, Ruth Summey and Helen McClanahan; uncles, James Ferguson, and his wife, Juanita, Gene Ferguson and Terry Ferguson, and his wife, Nancy; and many many cousins that he loved.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend John Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be held. At other times the family will be at 1201 Camp Branch Road, Waynesville.
