Obituary for Dallas Davis

Canton – Dallas Davis, 88, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his residence.

A native of Jackson County, he was a son of the late Jarrett and Ollie Wykle Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emmadean Davis, who died in March of 2017; twin sons, Jeff and Gary Davis; Dallas was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and a member of the Masonic Lodge #472 AF & AM. He was also a member of the Sonoma Chapter #254 Order of the Eastern Star, a life member of Waynesville Chapter #69 R.A.M., Honorary member of Clyde Masonic Lodge #453 AF & AM and the Pigeon River Lodge #386 AF & AM. Dallas retired from Champion International Papers with over 30 years of service and was a member of Cruso United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Ronda Davis of Canton; one sister, Ocie Stinnett of Horse Shoe; and one brother, Hanley Davis of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Davis Hooper and Reverend Aryn Williams Ruebel officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Burial will follow at Long’s Community Cemetery with masonic graveside rites conducted by Sonoma Masonic Lodge #472 AF & AM. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
