Charles Blaylock

Canton - Charles Burton Blaylock, 77, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at The Homestead.

A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Burton and Roberta Henson Blaylock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Beryl Blaylock. Charles was the owner and operator of Blaylock Trucking and Hilltop Equipment. He served as deacon, training union director, and a member of the adult choir at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he was a lifelong member.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Greene Blaylock; two daughters, Kim Stockton and husband, Keith, and Trudy Hall and husband, Randy, all of Canton; one sister, Bobbie Jean Bumgarner of Canton; and three grandchildren; Kyle Stockton and his wife Katherine, Kolby Stockton, and Charlee Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Holland and Reverend Jimmy Burress officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
