Clyde - Our entire community and region are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Anthony Blake Hyatt. Blake, age 41, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals surrounded by his loving family.

Blake was born on June 1, 1976 and was a resident of Haywood County most of his life. He was a 1994 graduate of Pisgah High School and attended Appalachian State University, graduating with a BA degree in Construction Management. Blake was a former employee of Buckeye Construction Company. In February of 2014, Blake formed his own company, Hyatt Pipeline, LLC. In the short period of time since the founding of his company, Blake grew his company of commercial pipe installation which encompassed several projects throughout Western North Carolina. Blake was a member of Canton First Baptist Church.

Blake will be remembered as an extremely generous person who gave freely of his time and resources for numerous causes. Blake possessed a spirit that was strong, dependable and straight forward. He was a dedicated supporter of youth sports and coached several teams in Little League Baseball, Basketball and Football. Blake cherished his many hours spent at Lake Chatuge and enjoyed many rounds of golf with his friends. Most important, Blake possessed a deep love for his family. His family will always hold a sustaining memory of Blake as a good husband, father, son and grandson.

Blake is survived by his wife of nine years, Nicole Mills Hyatt; one daughter, Stella Blake Hyatt; one son, Jaxon Asher Hyatt, both of the home; his parents, Alex and Judy Howell Hyatt; two brothers, Robert James Hyatt (Sheila) and Jason Alexander Hyatt, all of Clyde; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Reed Hyatt; one niece, Ryleigh Hyatt; one nephew, Tyler Killian Hyatt; and aunt, Lynn Scarboro (Jim), of Waynesville. Blake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elwood and Nannie Howell and Joseph Hyatt.

A service celebrating Blake's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Canton First Baptist Church with the Reverend Court Greene and Reverend James A. Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. Pallbearers will be Brett Thomason, Billy Carver, Ryan Thompson, Tyler Killian, Mike Cloer and Frank Leatherwood.The Canton Little League baseball players will serve as honorary pallbearers and will be seated together at the service on Saturday.
