Bereavement Program of HRMC Hospice
The mission of the Hospice Bereavement Program is to provide grief education and supportive counseling to families of Hospice patients and to the community. Programs are available for children and adults.
Monthly emails: mailings are sent for 12 months following the death of your loved one. The mailings offer education regarding grief and loss and provide details about support and community programs.
Individual and Family Sessions: Consultation with the hospice bereavement counselor allows for a safe, confidential place for disclosure of one’s feeling about grief and provides education about the normal grief process.
Monthly Support Events: 1st Friday, 8:00-9:00 a.m. at Bojangle’s. Casual conversation over coffee. (Back corner under the television) Claire Stoeckel or Dan Yearick will be present to facilitate conversation.

Art and Soul: 2nd Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. @ the home of Judi Steffen. Informal setting to explore creative ways to express grief through art. No skills necessary. Call Claire Stoeckel for directions.

Understanding Grief and Loss: Eight week support group. The eight-week series is for any adult suffering the loss of a loved one through death. The goal is to provide education and support in each weekly session. Topics include; grief education, understanding feelings and emotions, role changes, spirituality, stress and coping skills, anniversaries, holidays and healing. Registration and brief interview required.

Memorial Service: To honor all hospice patients and loved ones of community participants served in the past year. Sunday, May 17, 2009, Lake Junaluska Chapel at 2:00 p.m.
Holiday Seminar: Hope and Healing for the Holidays, Coping With the Death of a Loved One. Open to the community. Offers coping techniques for handling the holidays after the death of a loved one.
